I have had to learn a lot of both systems, because I work with my Father who understands imperial easier, but anything a little complex I work out in metric and then give him the converted answer. Often I can work out the metric sums in my head and just use a calculator app to convert it to imperial for Dad. It is generally easier just moving decimal places than doing fractions. I think that is why Aussies see imperial as old fashioned and backwards, because it is what the old people use down here. We are hoping for your sakes you catch on to it!!
