Southeast Wyoming | Not related but the hd on my laptop would not restart when I unplugged it due to an approaching thunder storm. My patience was already thin from fighting the hd clone.
This desktop has been having startup issues so I quit using it so I could replace the HD incase it was failing. I wanted a 1TB drive but Office Depot was out of 1TD Seagate drives so I got the 2TB.
We had a rainy day so I decided to nurse my headcold in the house and clone the HD. The process begins but upon the required restart, I get a message like "starting acronis UEFI loader . . ." It locks up at that point and after a couple hours I turned off the power and retried probably more than a half dozen times.
A google search turns up some problems but I could never find and download the "fix" files on the Acronis website. The one link always just refreshes the same page. I did try the option for expanding for a large drive. FAIL.
Does anyone have advice on getting this 500 mb disk cloned to the 2 tb drive?
Does the best fix involve Western Digital?
Thank you for any help! |
