I'm in the country, and personally, I subscribe from a wireless ISP. We have an external antennae mounted on the house, aimed towards the ISP's tower in town. I'm pretty happy with the speeds - I'm paying $32/month for about 7 mb/s.

This is what I use myself. Fortunately there is a tower on the grain leg at my brother's place. I have a good line of sight to the leg from an antenna mounted on the side of my house just outside my office. It does go out occasionally but it's far better than my other choices. I pay $360/year for my midrange service. This is adequate for my needs as I'm not into movies etc.
