Southwestern IL St. Clair Co. | Can someone tell me which wires go to the terminals on a 7 pin round plug for trailer based on wire color listed on plug? My truck doesn't have the proper color coded wire. Plug for truck just labels each pin by wire color and a number. I can tell which wire on my truck is turn signal, brake, etc. Putting new plug on truck, old plug was 6 pin so that was no help. thanks, John |

Vicksburg MI 49097 | I assume 7 pin flat,, get a test light and a jumper wire some masking tape and a piece of paper.. Use the test light to figure out what each wires does then label them with masking tape or and number them how you want..
Use the jumper wires and a battery to make the lights on the trailer work .. or jump from say a turn signal wire that is activated and make each circuit on the trailer work.. or use the nice diagrams that others posted links to on here. |

NC Iowa | There is a wiring diagram for heavy trucks/semis, and one for passenger trucks, I've made the mistake twice. Once using the diagram that came with the box of the new plug, and the second time searching google for a diagram.
Not sure what you are wiring. |
