You will get longer life, especially on front drive tires. JD has mentioned this in operator's manuals for a while now, especially usefull if traction in forward direction is not the major consideration. It will increase tread life and can help even out wear on the bars. If you have ever run a long bar/ short bar bias front tire on the road, you'll remember the vibration at slow speeds. It will ride a lot smoother with the tires reversed. Helps with the ride on self propelled forage harvesters, too, but tire wear hasn't been so much of a concern on those.
