I bet not, chances are it is a powertech. Would not have the 55 gallon drum exhsust if it were Cummins powered.

My bet is a QSX15.  The engine / filters / cooling arrangement on all the pictures I have seen appears different than the 13.5

From The Combine Forum:

This tractor will be a 9RX. The X representing 4 track design. The largest size will be a 9650RX with a 15L cummins engine. Deere and Cummins teamed up in designing a special "deere only" cummins engine with a deere serial number. (this will get around dealers needing certifications.)

NE SD		They use Cummins in forage harvesters, not sure why they wouldn't in higher hp tractors. Looks to me like it says 9610 on the side.

Woodham, Ontario		They still are using Cummins engines in the 7980 forage harvesters... Those are still Tier 2 motors (800hp)

The Cummins is a beast but also a massive fuel hog. If you think no other motor has power you have never ran one of these. :)

Not gonna pretend to know much about them, as I have very little time in a quad of any manufacture. I just find the ATI version to be more aesthetically pleasing, and it would seem the design would lend itself to climbing up and over ruts, etc better than the flat bottoms on Case track undercarriages.

NJ		I see they put a flapper on the exhaust instead of the stupid curved stack that every time it rains it gets water down the exhaust. Then when you start it it blows sooty water all over everything.... I hate curved stacks

Winkler, Manitoba Canada		I would agree that the track design has remarkable similarities to the Delta Track Versatile which runs on a Camoplast undercarriage. However, after looking at the picture I wonder if it is actually a photo or a photoshop production. The front drive axle on the picture appears to be located so as to place the differential in the space the engine would occupy.

SC WI		It's strange that all the deere guys said they didn't need a quad and that 2 tracks were better. Give it a few years and deere won't even make a 2 track unit anymore.

Liberty, MO		Got my belly full of JD Tracks berming on the ends when they applied my NH3, almost like jumping combine ruts, 30 inch or bigger tracks, not going to happen next year, I'll get my old 3pt mtd bar out replace all the hoses, and put it on 9 knives, 21ft at a time. with 1,000 gal wagons, not the 2,000 gal kind.

MN		our good friend/neighbor that we harvest sugar beets with has had quad tracks since day 1, so I have been in/around them for a long time. I myself do not like articulated tractors anyway, but after seeing all of the problems he has with every single unit, and the amount of fuel those things burn, I will never own one.

Sourthern WI		I love how the sheet metal follows the profile of the track. What a cobble job. Looks like they were too cheap to bother coming up with sheet metal for both the wheel version and the track version.

Southeast Washington		In our area we welcome any large horsepower tracked tractor and the more the competition the better off we are with more options. For the hills in the PNW they just can't get tires to hook up like the tracks can. I know JD came out with big duals and triples Michelins saying they could pull like a quad track but never could get it to hook up in the hills like the tracked tractors.

Thanks JD for another option for us and we don't even have a John Deere tractor on our farm at this point in time although we have had MFWD's in the past.

Read on another forum that yes it is a Cummins 15L but supposedly it will be a "Deere Only" cummins motor with a deere serial #, and that the largest model will be a 9650RX, and it does look to me like that model is a 96?? RX. But then again maybe its fake. Who knows.

I guess CanadianFarmer already posted that. Oops.

I'm sure Deere will tell everyone they invented the concept of the quadtrac. Their 2 track design is a dud compared to the quad. No comparison

The 9610 RX is essentially a Versatile Delta Track painted green. Has a Cummins QSX15 engine, Caterpillar transmission, and the track units are all Camoplast.

not everything you say is wrong but not everything is correct either. and on a 4 month old post...
camoplast has always made deere's tracks, but they are not the same carriage.
no cat transmission, same transmission as other deere 4wd. yes, cummins 15L.
