Dayton, IA | I guess my question is, what is the value in the air adjust if you set the bottom solid? Wouldn't a fixed row cleaner do the same thing without the cost and extra equipment? I just thought I could adjust the row cleaner to perform differently for no-till, strip-till and worked ground, but haven't gotten it to do what I want yet. I can't let it float on the depth bands and if I pick it up to just skim the top, it is too light and will bounce up about 50% of the time. I had to run 30 to 40 lbs lift to keep them from throwing too much dirt. I am more concerned with them throwing dirt then being off the ground, I don't want to plant into a trench, but if they could stay down and not bounce up, I think they would level out the ride for the row unit some. | |
