Central IL | Most electrical contractors have access to them. I would suggest you go look where someone has installed them before purchasing. Their characteristics are somewhat different than the old mercury or sodium vapor lights.
Our Vol. fire dept replaced old sodium vapor lights that needed constant maintenance and installed LEDs outside the firehouse and met some but not all of our expectations. So we had the local electric utility install a flood light for the parking lot. LED's cost three times the old style lights but use less than 1/10th the electricity. They brilliantly light up the area around the firehouse (good) but the problem was the parking area 50 feet away where there was practically no light (bad). | |
