Southwest OK | Some of them are just doers. Tough old girls that know their job and follow through with it.
I've got a fall calver that broke her back leg during one of our snow storms. About halfway between her hock and ankle. Was going to get her up but got busy trying to get everything fed and never got around to it. She went way down hill but never kicked her calf off and was making it to feed every day. She weaned a calf bigger than my average and bred back. Gets around well enough she's just out with the herd. Always the last one up, but she always comes. She had a heifer and I hope she's carrying another one now. | |
