West of Mpls MN about 50 miles on Hwy 12 | Why didn't they pay next seasons rent in the fall rather than spread fertilizer?
People renting on a year to year basis have always sprinkled a little fertilizer on in the fall for years in my neighborhood in an attempt make the landlord feel obligated to them, and tie the land up for the next year before any next season price/acre negotiations have been done. Personally I feel that's more BS than the landlord who says he's rented the land to someone else. Maybe that's why they lost the land?
I don't feel sorry for the person if they lose the fertilizer. It's poor communication and bad business IMO.
