Subject: RE: Farm lease question???

southern MN
Was there a written lease? If the lease said terms were up after 2013, then he might be out the fertilizer.

If it was an oral. Or year to yrear lease, then I hear different things about MN.

This expert suggests there needs to be 3 months notice given, but that is hard to figure out as to how it fits a growing season.

I suspect then it comes down to a court date and figuring out if applying fertilizer is part of the growing season and you get to complete harvesting your crop.

There is not an easy answer to this in Mn, from what I have seen. The courts will say pay the fella for the fertilizer, but that is after having to drag through lawyers and court time.
