Subject: RE: No tilling in the north

central - east central Minnesota -

eweland - 4/23/2014 11:34 Inject the liquid and surface apply the solids. I've thought of strip till but how much tractor would I need for a 6 or 8 row rig? Plus what about my sma grain? Would a guy still use the 950 Deere to notill that in?

I don't know your tractor size -but, 4 row, 6 row or 8 row could work, easily - determined by available tractor hp. If 4row, spend some money on GPS guidance to make up for larger planter (6 or 8 row), if that's what you have. No-tilling grain with 750,1560 or 1590 no till drill would work easily . . .. establishing alfalfa ? I haven't done any alfalfa with my drill. At such minuet depths for alfalfa seed, the field needs to be pretty smooth.

In reality, if you are injecting / knifing in manure, you aren't not tilling . .. . . more like reduced tillage. Which if fine and works great.
