Tara, why does it matter what day they turn in their report? For one it was done because a report was released on Monday was it not? Are you saying people shirked their duty and didn't provide information to be compiled in time? What is their duty? As they drive around note approximately how much has been planted or maybe call a few individuals to see what the progress of planting has happened in the last week? How much do these reports mean in the long run? In 12 we planted the crop at an early record pace with about as little unplanted acres as possible. Last year a very late planted crop with a high amount of unplanted acres. Which year would you expect we would be closer to trendline yield? Overall size of crop? So when you are spending time nitpicking over if for one someone reported what was planted or even attempted to report because of a holiday, what does it matter. Oh by the way neither year was close to trendline but one year wasn't quite as hot and dry for the majority of the cornbelt. If I was wondering how big or small this crop will be I would focus on moisture and heat and not whether we are off 1 or 2% because someone didn't report because they weren't in the office.
