Rolla, ND | In drug pricing, the US basically lets the drug companies set the price. It is supposedly let the market dictate it. Doesn't work so bad when there is a market like in many of the generics. The drug companies work hard through patents and such to eliminate the market and get it so they can charge whatever for a drug.
In the rest of the industrialized world, you have a government panel look at the information concerning the drug and then basically setting the price.
Result is much lower prices. | |
