Your making a lot of assumptions that are incorrect.

I like the postal service, I'm not arguing going all private at all.

I don't think your "normal" as far as PO use. I go to the PO maybe 3-4 times a year. If we need stamps we put money in the mail box so again no reason to go to the PO for the most common thing we need from them.

Most people don't go to the PO as often as you because chances are the are working the same hours as they are open. Also what does a "average" person need to go to the post office that often for if they have a regular 9-5 some place.

Also most of these little PO's have one person working. So when Sally that works at the bank in Smallville get her lunch hour they are closed any way. If they had less and larger they would be open over lunch and maybe even until 7 at night so the "average person" could get there besides on Saturday.
