Amherst WI | I doesn't even needs to be that drastic. "Here" IMO they could go to one per county. There are 70,000~ in the county and you could get to the county seat within 25 min no matter where you are in the county.
In some parts of the country I'm sure that wouldn't work but I think it could here.
There are nine (I think) post offices in the county. So I would bet that is all of $750,000 or more in Postmaster salaries and benefits that are paid out that doesn't need to be, you'd save on the real estate too. You would still need the sorters and the carriers would need more because they would have that up to 25 min drive to get their mail and get their route started. | |
