Nebraska aka the boondocks
I have a good friend whom is a very intelligent professor at UNL east campus. Our families had lunch a couple months ago in Lincoln. One thing he talked about, "which he absolutely hates," is the prostituting that professors have to do to get "grant and research" money. For instance, companies and groups come to the University, and the professors are under pressure to bring in the bucks, and the "clients" or "donors" want you to do research, and guess what, "they want it in their favor." If the study doesn't fall their way, they will many times just deep six it. As cynical as I am, I was actually shocked to hear this. I guess corruption and scumbags know no bounds. So I suppose one could insinuate that some research comes out of Universities with all parties knowing what the final result will be, before one test is done.
