Slocomb Al | To support our organic grassfed dairy i am operating the "Slocomb dirt express".
The two 17 yard Reynolds scrapers are pulled by my 9380 Steiger with a N 14 engine (10000+hrs)and 12 speed transmission.
Last year i lost one group (3-6-9-12) while past week 2-5-8-11 let go.
Since all of the pulling in 4 rth gear is i am trying to finish the current job. (3 days and about 4 hours drive in 10th gear)
Option 1 ___ Buy a rebuilt 12 speed from Big tractor parts for $18000.(cash flow is a problem)
Option 2___ Try to rebuilt ourself (how much time and issues involved)
Option3____ stay away from used trannys because you dont know what you get??
On the current job i am getting paid $200/hr,is this the going rate in your"alls neck off the woods??
I move about 300 "lose bank yards/hr.
