Same here, as far as taking out carpeting.   It is a very dirty flooring.  We replaced ours with prefinished hardwood flooring ourselves.  I bought a  pneumatic nailer, and bought prefinished 3/4 inch thick oak flooring for less than $3/sq,ft, and then just put down a couple of high quality rugs that can be taken up to clean.  Could not be happier or breathe healthier.  I know it's not what was asked, but what we did to replace ours'.    Good luck with what you choose
