Southern MN | The 40 year old carpet in the living room is starting to wear out, so we're looking to replace it. Shaw Tuftex and Mohawk Karastan seem to be the choices we're leaning towards. The Karastan is softer, but I wonder if it is more prone to matting in traffic areas. Both have options for 3 different pile heights. And again I wonder if the longer pile will show wear faster.
I'd appreciate hearing opinions on what to look for or what to stay away from. TIA.
