The others are right -- exercise is important, but food is really the key.

If nothing else, make a decision to stop eating sugar/high fructose corn syrup/whatever sweetener. That cuts out the processed foods, and all the store-bought baked goods. You'll be eating the way Chimel advises, with lots of raw foods, whole grains, etc.

If you do need something sweet, eat a little bit of dark chocolate once in awhile.

I gave up salad dressing all together. Squeeze some bottled or fresh lemon on your salad, with herbs and nuts, such as sunflower seeds, and that will give you great flavor.

If you like something creamier, use plain yogurt. It's delicious used like a dressing, a dip or sour cream. It's great on a baked potato, for dipping sauce with every kind of vegetable, and even, on occasion, for dipping with potato chips. Even my picky, junk-food eating teenagers now eat it on their food. It's great with a homemade granola, instead of milk. Also good for fruit/veggie smoothies in the morning.

You will find that when you change how you eat, your palate will change, and a lot of the processed/junk food you ate before won't even taste good anymore.

Good luck and enjoy your new adventure!
