E.Central MN | Our coop had a special sticker on the contract form last summer that stated they would pass on higher costs related to trucking if there was a pipeline problem. However, they managed to have enough supply to avoid running out(barely) such that they didn't need to send trucks to Texas, etc. Plus they said that after discussing the issue it didn't make sense to penalize customers who were doing the right thing by forward contracting their LP needs. On the other side of the coin, someone will have to cover those incurred costs. Either they get tacked onto the delivered price of LP or the business will have to use other funds to pay them or if no other funds were available then the business will go out of business. I'm sure some propane suppliers got trapped last winter and had to make some very difficult decisions. | |
