eastern Nebraska | Been watching this too, and comparing to last year and others... only explanation I can offer is that there's 16% less on-farm than there was last year... so maybe one can assume the commercial has better ownership nearby than he did at this time last year. Since the stocks report (so far) the N/Q has been working instead, so maybe they see tougher sourcing of cash beans later on. If we really are going to import a pile of beans from South America, they should be arriving by that time, so that's still a bit of a head-scratcher too. I suppose we'll find out during deliveries whether there's a game being played on this. Sounds like basis has been firming out east, but not to the extreme levels of last year (yet?). | |
