My farm dog has always been locked up at night. I live on the farm and I am in and out of the yard all the time. I lock him in when I ho on for the night and let him out before I do chores.
I do not like dogs that run when know ones around
if you're around the farm most of the day I'd say its fine


I'm the same way. He means to much to me to be off loose when harm may find him. We have a few quirks to work out still but we've got the whole respect down pretty good. Listens well but can get a bit excited. He sleeps in the house, sometime right by the bed, but not in/on the bed unless I'm sick/bed-ridden - he likes to stay real close then. As far as I'm concerned he's got more between his ears than most people, so I like to treat him well. Wife loves him because if there is a noise, if he's comfortable, she's comfortable. More than once he's gone nuts and she's pulled the rifle out.
