OldMcdonald - 4/15/2014 11:38 "The biggest way this could have been avoided is if we didn't help topple the former Ukraine president in the first place. I wonder if we will ever learn not to try to set up governments that we think will be friendly to us." Learn? This is exactly what your leaders (and the western world) wanted... the US does coups and puppet governments better than anyone else. Shah of Iran, Guatemala, Venezeula... not quite, Saddam Hussein, Afghanistan, Benghazi, they tried in Syria... and now Ukraine. The idea was to "give" Ukraine another gazillion dollars they couldn't pay back, again.... keep tightening the screws, and eventually pave the way for increasing influence and control over their state by western influence. It's not like Russia doesn't know the prescription - they watched US do it to all it's central and South American neighbors, middle Eastern countries for years. I don't get how people can't connect the dots here - this time we tried to do it in Russia's own backyard - Ukraine, a strategically very important country for them.... and somehow we are surprised that they are taking a Stand? This isn't American Policy - although in every instance like this it's always veiled in that regard. Rather it's the IMF banker cartel and their connected corporate racket that has been running this gambit for decades, making billions for their shareholders, and back-filled by American foreign policy . Kudos to Putin for finally making a stand - in Syria and Ukraine.

You have pinpointed the real shysters who always seem to get their tentacle hooks into everything.

When you enslave everyone via massive debt brought on by easy unsecured credit and low interest rates you crush their freedoms and dreams & deliver them into financial slavery.

Very few understand that premise.

Putin can blow the whole thing up and is making rumblings with the Chinese about doing so by merely saying he will accept other currencies as payment for gas without first converting to the US petrodollar. A lot of the rest of the world has just about had it with our destructive monetary policies as the world reserve currency.
