We had 3 days of rain totalling about 1.7" (including 0.5" diameter hail stones mixed in there). The storm finished out with 1" of snow and it didn't get warm enough to melt it off. 20F this morning. I'll take that calving weather over below zero temps any day!
I had one cow in the barn with a slow calf and she had been trying her best to either kill me or get out for days. I opened the gate to let the pair out yesterday morning. When she stuck her head out and saw the snow she went back inside and laid down :)
