I used to work at an ice cream company, total storage was app 72,000 pallets worth. We were doing some remodeling, and found a few half gallons that had been knocked off and fallen behind a wall. 15 years old I think. Maintained at -20 continuously. Quality Assurance tested them, they were perfect.
Almost all quality damage happens after the store freezers. Maintain ice cream at -20 at it keeps very well.
