Pressure drop would be in proportion to flow. It sounds like the flow is high enough the 3/8" hose is a restriction.

It takes a little more time and effort, but it is worth it to feed the new hoses through the hollow in the y of the tongue. I see a great many systems where the add on hoses are strapped to the outside of it, and it always inevitably causes problems. Also, in the umbilical (hose and cable bundle) between the toolbar frame and lower frame, if it has a plastic spring looking wrap on it, it is worth the effort to unravel that plastic spring wrap, and get the new hoses inside it. That is a "high traffic area" for a lot of frame parts, and running the new hoses as close to identical to the original ones is the best way to keep them from snagging on something. Especially look out for the block on the side of the front post lift cylinder. It can get dangerously close to hoses and wiring, and it passes by them every time the planter is raised or lowered.
