You need some professional quality polishing compund from an autobody supply house, a buffer and enough talent to use it properly.
I have seen guys that are magic with a buffer and guys wreck a paint job. Using some ultrafine compound and the right pads will give good results then a good coat of wax will help preserve the new finish.
