I have a 24 v gas valve that I plan on running off a 12v system.

The converters found on ebay were all made in China and I wonder about the quality.

The valve pulls 15 watts and would be 100% duty cycle.

Would it be possible to set another 12v battery there and by using diodes here and there have 24v for the valve and still have 12v for the engine?

Ideas?
