You only need one router. You can only use one modem...unless you wanna pay for another Dedicated Service Line.

You'll either want to get some sort of Wi-Fi repeater, or run CAT 5 from the router's new location to the old (You'd need a LAN hub in the room the two desktops are located if you take the latter route; they're cheap).


I forgot to mention we already have a Wi-Fi repeater located in the central part on the house, my concerns are that it is slowing the connection down. It seems that when we are trying to use Apple's Facetime with the kids/grand kids on my wife's IPAD that is does not work very well on that end of the house and it works much better when we move to the office area. This is not a real problem with Facetime as it is easy to move, but we just purchased a Roku for the living room TV and would like as fast of connection as possible for it.

And I am trying to avoid running any cables through the attic and walls.
