Subject: Can I dismantle ABS system?

west central illinois

I have a 2003 GMC HD2500 duramax that has the ABS light on all the time. The brake pedal will act up and sometimes it will push against your foot. Anyway service tech said it needs new controller and sensor will be around a grand for parts and labor. Is there a way to disconnect or bypass the ABS system on this truck?
