I believe that some of the worst abuses of soil management have been lessened. Too much plowing rather than stirring the soil or minimum or no till was usually not very good practice. Putting the residue down in a deep layer wasn't smart farming.

Still today there are muddy creek waters which is carrying away some soil. Many small gullies are being managed. Still, with 90 foot wide sprayers it isn't easy to manage grass waterways that are on angles and curves.

It's the heavy rains that cause most of the heavier damage.
