Also check the vacuum booster air valve on the booster, it might be stuck. Brake fluid pressure from the master cylinder pushes a little piston in the booster that opens an air valve that allows the booster to vacuum boost brake pressure This valve is located under a little 4 bolt cover on the booster housing. I had a 70 Dodge 500 where this little boost valve piston would corrode tight in the aluminum housing every winter in the off season. Woulde then have a hard pedal with no boost.. If the booster makes no whooshing sound of moving air when you push or release the brake, a stuck air valve may be the problem.
