Sandy Hook, MB | Joelt - 2/28/2014 12:18 The problem is that drought hardens the ground and then if heavy rains come it all runs off causing flooding problems while doing little to help soil moisture.
Hello Joelt
I thought that the opposite would happen. Here with clay soils, when ground is dry clay soils shrink forming huge cracks. When rain comes, no water runs off as all of it flows into the cracks. I could literally run the garden hose for days, pumping thousands of gallons of water before the cracks in my garden would close up. |
