Subject: Geometry of the top link

The top pin where the 3 point top link fastens to the plow is quite a bit higher than standard so a quick hitch doesn't match up. I am not sure what tractor you have but they do make some adaptors for later model CASE IH Steiger Cat 4 quick hitches that work well.

The reason why the pin is higher is due to the range of motion of the top link. If the top link ever gets parallel to the ground there is no range of motion left in the plow to go deeper. This would happen at a very shallow plow depth if the top pin was at standard 3 point height. So we increased the pin height to let the plow go deeper and it also gives the plow a little flip up when you pick it up to help it lift higher. In essence it gives the plow more range of motion.

I have always used to 3 point plow for myself. It takes about 5 to 10 minutes to hook it up.
