Stick an ad on Craigslist for the tires and see what happens in a week or 2. If they sell, fine. If not, you can decide what to do then.
There always seems to be somebody looking for tires, if you have the sales ticket and can show the actual miles you can probably get 90% of new price back out of them-less mount and balance of course.
