These groups are usually determined by what components are already on the engine, such as the turbo, injectors, cam, balancer, etc. If your engine is on the lower level within a family, more HP is usually a few clicks and a few dollars away. If you're at the upper limit in a family, then technically you have no business uprating unless you replace hard parts, although I'm sure there are some out there who will tell you otherwise. In the end, it boils down to long-term reliability. | |
