lawfarm its good to see somebody thinking about that carbon to nitrogen ratio. not many people realize how important it is to feeding the soil like in a corn soybean rotation. i guess its why i stopped raising soybeans. i also like your quoate grain trader about beans likeing fertile soil, just wish all my soil was fertile. the last ten years i raised beans i was averaging $100 per ac on bean fertilizer and it was worth it, i just dont think i can build up my poor soils with beans and what little residue they produce and then with their narrow carbon to nitrogen ratio, it seems they are gone in a month
