They're good tractors. Mine has almost 12000 hrs on it. Now my transmission is going, have metals filings in it. they are bit hard to start in the cold. Biggest issue is the torgue. Once you find your gear; you're OK, but you just can't shift up under a heavy load like a grain cart because once you stop, you have to start all over again. Great for fiels work with medium size equipment. Had a 8430, then an 8450 and now a 9520 and 9630.
I think the 8450 allthough hard to work on, is one of the best tractors JD made
