C KS | Opinions, experiences, etc. Anyone hit a deer with either? No I don't want a ranchhand. http://www.truckdefender.com http://www.aliarc.com/products/?sect=pickups_0 Edited by Farmin' Fireman 11/22/2013 18:43

Iowa - Floyd County | Not sure about the two you listed but I have seen a couple of these in person and they are very well built and look real sharp. http://www.denver-offroad.com I was going to put one on my truck but funds would not allow it. I have had a Buckstop bumper on one of my trucks, awesome bumper but it was very heavy.

NC KS | My FIL has a aliarc, it looks nice but the metal along the bottom bent back from milo stocks, so it not real strong at the bottom. He bent it all back and had a piece of rod wlded on the inside, other than that its good. He did hit a deer with it and no damage to truck.

NC ND | I smucked a dear on black ice with my aliarc, took it pretty well. Make sure you get a model with a rake on the bottom, mine doesn't, like mentioned the metal on the bottom is cosmetic only. Can take out a deer, but a rabbit will destroy my tranny cooler and leave you sitting. There are other that are no doubt stronger than the aliarc, but it looks good on most pickups

Phillips Co NW Kansas | Can I ask why you don't want a ranchhand or renegade?

C KS | Certainly. The fact is that if I go with steel I will go with the ranch hand, it's the toughest thing I've personally seen. The issue is, on AgTalk, when someone asks which is better, Deere or CIH, someone will say Lexion. That certainly could be true, but it doesn't answer the question. Smell what I'm steppin' in?

I've hit 2 deer with my truck defender, it's game over for the deer. The one I hit this summer bent the bottom pipe slightly, but I got her at 60 mph. Just got another one on my new pickup, really good product. Edited by Hurricane 11/22/2013 20:28

Phillips Co NW Kansas | Gotcha. I like the looks of the aliarcs when they are new. After they are beat on not so much.

western south dakota | The Ali arc is made for looks, the pipes on the rake will not take much of a hit. The defender has held up very well so far.

Glad Valley SD | The defender bumpers are good, better than the ali arc. They also have a new line thats a little heavier with boxed uprights, more similar to the herd bumper, which I think is the best aluminium bumper on the market. But the defenders are less money, and built 100 miles from here.
