Subject: RE: nteresting observation

Scribner, NE
I still think that is true but it the problem is not easily solved by just adding more N. I was not totally thrilled about the way we applied the N this year and I think that may have cost yield. We limed 3 tons per acre and applied 100 lbs of 11 52 0. We did not apply N until this spring then applied dry over the top and had about an inch of rain on it a few days later. The dryland corn still yielded well but not nearly as well as other dry fields. Still topped last year by over 50 bushels. It seems whiney to complain about a 150 bushel yield after a wet spring followed by nearly no rain in July and August.
