Did you check the return spring on the left side of the platform? That spring keeps the rod tight going to the control box.

I had trouble with mine and it was inside the black box on the circuit board. The solder broke around the main circuit. I had to take the box off to find the problem. I had to wiggle the circuit and look at it real close to see it.
