Wanting to go back to a pull type sprayer. I want something with more capacity allowing me to sprayer more acres per fill up. Have a Jd 6500 now with a 400 gallon tank, looking for a 1200-1500 gallon capacity with 90-100 ft booms that will break down to 60. Booms will need to be heavy duty we have some rough rolling ground. I know some will flame over going back to a pull type but this is what works best for me. Also this will be a new pull type. Thanks

No flames from me. Did the same thing. I still have the sp, but I run the pt 90% of the time and will likely be 100% by next year. But I pull mine with a cheap truck. Here's my skinny tired sprayer. 1,500 gal, 120' and 60' at first fold with valving to spray at 60'.

I had to spray fungicide last week on some spring wheat that I had already made pseudo tramlines in with the 132' sprayer. So rather than make new runs with the 120', I just hooked up tot he 132' and went at it. Here's a video of it.

After seeing my setup last year, a freind from eastern Oregon called the other evening to ask opinions about buying a pt to pull behind his floater truck Loral. He plans to load the 1,600 gal on the Loral, and a 1,600 gal sprayer and either connect them for equal pull down, or transfer from the truck to the sprayer when the sprayer runs low. Load time is a killer for him as he is in a windy area.

Hardi is most popular, but losing ground to fast and topair in my area. I would look hard at a Fast or topair next round. Fast has shortest axle to hitch pin distance.

The Demco 1250 sprayer is just as short as the Fast sprayer from axle to hitch pin distance.

They all are good units don't know about the breaking down to 60 feet though, I use a fast now with the hydraulic tongue so the wheels don't dog track on crop in curves. Maybe section control and boom height control would be cost effective for you. run a topair before the fast it was a good unit too.

I have a Schaben 8500 with 90 ft. booms. When its folded it is at 48 ft. and the booms will hit on themselves unless one is folded farther ahead than the other. That said that's what I needed for my situation and it works well for me and I do like the sprayer.

My first year using a Schaben 6500 (1000g / 60'). Bought it new last Dec and so far has been great Prior to that had a Demco with a 45' boom. The Schaben is built 100x stronger then the Demco ( was also a good sprayer- never had any problems, just out - grew it) The Schaben is very simple and easy to use, has all standard Banjo fittings and valves, Don't know if this helps, I am sure they are all about the same quality, just boils down to dealer / trade value and price. Just wish it was not Green and Yellow.........

Is that Schaben 6500 available with 90' booms? That is a nice looking sprayer.
Cheers,

I think so, but I never checked since 60's seem to be standard stock at most dealers

I think you have to go to the 8500 to get 90' booms.

We have a Bestway and just got it this spring. It is a 90 foot but I don't think you can get it to just spray with just the inner booms. The way it folds is left and right and the outer boom is plumbed in as part of the breakaway. The inner and outer boom on each side fold out simultaneaously with seperate controls for left and right boom but no inner and outer boom. The only way you can go smaller is by leaving one boom all the way in and when that happens you have to have it up high because the one boom is cradled above the tire so I don't think that is the sprayer you want.

If I was buying a new pull type sprayer today, that is what I'd be leaning towards.  They look very nice.

I wouldn't were on our second one after they took the first one back due to the boom being a disaster. This one has been better but not much.

I think that's the first negative comment I've heard about the newer Demco's.

What in particular have you been having problems with?

The way the end boom is flopping around, I wouldn't touch it. LOVE everything about my summers Except the paint.

I've got a Schaben 8500 with 80 ft booms. I like it and can't complain; have had it for about 5 years now with no problems. Put a John Deere rate controller on it and works great with swath control.

sounds like a top air ta1200 would best suit your needs. 1200 gallon and a true 60/90 boom.

Been run a TA 1200 this summer, after getting the hydraulics setup property for the tractor we’re pulling it with it‘s been great. I wanted one the wheel spacing would come in to 60”, Top Air fit the bill well.

Been really happy with my Demco. I've got the ag leader controlling it. Very efficient and at 60 feet, I can still get around on our hilly ground. I change to a bigger tip so I can really open it up on flat ground.
