Saronville NE | Have a 01 2500HD 8.1 with allison auto behind it. Tranny does weird things and it comes and goes, not a everyday basis. Sometimes it will not shift, pulling fert trailers this spring sometimes it would go to 4k rpm and stay their wouldnt shift, you would back off or speed up wouldnt shift, finally it would give in and shift. Then when NOT in tow haul mode, it will just start downshifting and engine breaking on its own as if you were in tow haul mode. Next time you are driving it, it is like its laboring to even get to speed, like the tranny is draggin or slipping. Also the tranny temp quage is showing it get over 200 degrees without pulling a trailer, just driving or driving with say 32 bags of seed on the FB. I had trannmission serviced about 25-30k miles ago, flushed and new filter put in, and had to have a new tow haul switch put in, which is the whole handle being replaced in the pu to fix that promblem. It has been put on a computer several times, and never shows anything wrong. Their is NO engine light on either or warning lights on when any of this happens. But then the next day it will drive just fine, these promblems are all intermittent but seem to be getting more regular.
SO does the tranny have internal issues or is it a computer issue? Any ideas. | |
