You make a good point about the seed treat. With the shriveled seed and "sticky" treat graphite is a must when planting sweet corn. When you tested the meters, did you account for the lower population that sweet corn is generally planted at? If the grower is running the same ground speed as when he plants grain corn, his meters will be turning 40-50% slower if he's planting the typical 18-20k sweet corn rate.
