West Central Indiana
I have a bag of Nutrena Dairyway Milk Replacer http://www.nutrenaworld.com/products/dairy-cattle/milk-replacer/ . I read my bags instructions and it says the same thing on the website, "see attached tag for important feeding instructions". Is there anyone that can tell me the mix ration or take a picture of the tag and post it on here. I need to know how much powder to mix with 1 gallon of water. Thanks

Just checked the tag.
80 pd calf 8oz powder twice a day
100pd calf 10oz twice a day
125pd calf 12.5 twice a day
150pd calf 15oz twice a day
I dont do mine like this I just give a full cup of powder twice daily and put out calf manna pellots.

I never use a full cup, I think it gives them the squirts and the reason they recommend so much is they are selling lots of milk replacer that way. But the calf we are feeding now is 3 weeks today and probably doesn't weigh more than 70, if that. She was a peanut. One thing I do that I think helps a lot is to add about a half scoop of powdered Gatorade to every bottle. Dehydration is what kills most calves, anyway. I got the idea years ago from looking at the ingredients on a packet of calf electrolyte powder. Said it had sodium, potassium, and electrolytes. The packet was like 6 bucks, and was good for 1 or 2 feedings. You can buy a big tub of powdered Gatorade for that or less and it lasts a lot longer than 1 or 2 feedings!
