Sorry if I wasn't clear above but what I was trying to say was that IF you want to use row cleaners, there is little clearance to get root balls and other 200 bu corn stalks between the row units. Folks that use them in no till do as you do - no attachments at all.

However there is a price paid in uniform seed depth as the gage wheels then have to go over everything in the field..... Actually the toughest case for these drills is recently disked heavy stalks with lots of cannonball sized rootballs laying around to catch in the squeeze disks - unless you have something to move them to the side. This is why the original designers of the 800 and later Case row units included "Trashwhipper" disks as an integral part of the design.
