Subject: Re: Kubota vs. Ranger

Wi
The ranger is for fun or for just cruising around in. If you want to do some work with it buy the Kubota. It is much heavier. Hydro transmission with a 3 spd main box in front of it. Power steering, true hydraulic dump, diesel torque. For us the diesel is just easier because its readily available. We bought ours because of our hispanic help. They are very hard on any UTV. The only issue we have the the Kubota is that they never put their foot on the brake due to the hydro always holding the machine on its own. The issue with this is that they try shifting without their foot on the brake and when you are on a hill the shifter will not want to move because the weight of the machine is pushing against the hydro and holding it in gear. So their mentality with everything is just to force it or ram it. This will sometimes cause the shifting forks to get locked or misaligned. You just have to remove the cover, realign everything and go. I'd hate to see what they could do at the speeds of a ranger.

They really aren't in the same class of machine. The ranger was built for the hunter/outdoorsman where the kubota was built to be on the job site or working on a farm.
