Subject: JD 8520T engine ?

Zabcikville, TX
The guy I'm working for is looking at an 8520T, 7500 hrs. He's been told that the engines in a tracked tractor will be needing to be overhauled at 7500 hrs, whereas the same engine in a wheeled tractor will last much longer. Anyone heard of this? Any truth to it. The tractor seems pretty solid. No oil leaks, doesn't us any oil and will absolutely pull the house off the blocks. Price seems right too. New tracks, undercarriage rebuilt about 700 hrs ago and really clean.
